Most people I talk with always want to retire as soon as they can to enjoy the rest of their life.

They often say that they can’t retire early because they need their job to pay loans, their house, and retirement which isn’t that far anyway so they can wait a bit longer.

That part really highlights what I want to avoid:

Not having a specific idea of how much money I need to retire as soon as possible, and advocating for it.

It’s like they try really hard not to retire and spend as little time as possible not enjoying to the fullest their life.

But that’s their life, not mine. And if that’s what they’re going for, then good for them. If people don’t want to change then you can’t help them to change.

My grandma recently passed away from cancer, and even though it was a sad event, it helped me realize that there is no time to live a life that isn’t what we want.

Life goes so fast, with death waiting for you sooner than you can expect it to happen.

My grandma recently got a house from her older family members who passed away not so long away. She planned on renovating the whole place and enjoying the end of her life there with my grandpa.

Nobody expected her to get incurable cancer, even more considering the fact that she has always eaten healthy food without abusing anything in life.

But life isn’t here to be fair, and her dreams are now just dreams.

So if you want to retire early, make sure to do the work that is required to do so, because you cannot get what you aren’t:

  • Calculate how much you spend on average per month
  • Build several income streams to reach your average monthly spendings fast
  • Develop skills that will help you build more income streams
  • Make sure to lower your spendings if that’s what you want
  • Realize that every moment in life is precious
  • Don’t work at a job you don’t like thinking life will get better as you get older

While I think that this article was a bit talking about two different subjects, enjoying life and retiring early, I hope that I was able to give you some valuable ideas.

I believe that too many people live their life trying not to lose anything rather than trying to win something.

Life can be really amazing and just enjoying it for just a couple of years when you get old and tired is a little bit sad. But again, everybody sees life the way they want to see it.
