Life is very short.

When patients in their terminal phase of cancer got interviewed on what were their biggest regrets, the most recurring one was to not have lived a more meaningful life that was dictated by themselves, not others.

We don’t usually realize the importance of our Why, the reason we do what we do until our life is faced with something related to death.

So the punchline for this article is easy: don’t live a life set by others.

I don’t like those big articles that give too many actions to take and I end up sitting on them forever, so…

Here’s the very first step you can take to skyrocket your life:

Set S.M.A.R.T Goals — we won’t need the A (Attainable) & R (Reachable).

S is for specific, make your goal as detailed as possible.

M is for measurable, make your goal easily trackable on a daily and weekly basis.

T is for time-bound, make sure that your goal won’t take more time than needed because you need to enjoy the achievements as well.

Examples:

  • Bad: I want to make more money.
  • Great: I want to make $120,000 a year to spend more time doing what I love.

When you know what you want, and you want it bad enough, you’ll find a way to get it. Jim Rohn

Make sure to live a life you won’t regret.
